This story is about the whitetail deer family. The story follows twin fawns, one is named Susie and the other one is named Billy, from the time they were a few weeks old, until they are about two or three years old. When they were fawns they like to play together. There are pictures that I took of the fawns from when they were small, and on up to when they grow up. There are also pictures of mother deer, father deer, and their deer friends.
The book has information about the deer family. One part of the book tells why they are called White Tail deer. There are a few parts in the book that talks about the buck’s antlers, and how they change as they grow up. This book has two texts. One text tells the story of the deer family and the other text are intended for the adult who is reading to the child, or for an older child that is reading the book. The purpose is to provide more information into the life of a deer. They are not detailed, but I hope that they will be helpful in adding some additional insight about the deer family into the story telling.
