Life is like the ocean, when one wave comes in and knocks you down, another wave will come along and lifts you right back up to the top.

Cardinals in winter

Birds fight at times with each other, after the fight is over with they fly off like nothing had happened, the fight is over with and they let it go, out of their minds. Wouldn’t it be nice if we would act like the birds after a fight, keeping the fight out of our minds and stop reliving it over and over again? Stay in the present, not in the past, learn from the past, but live in the present.

Red-bellied Woodpecker -female -To help keep our mind healthy and active as we age, we need to keep learning new things, one of the ways is to watch, and study birds. Birds are fun and interesting to watch. I have been watching birds for many years, and I’m still learning new things about how they live. Someone that watch birds are called a birder.  When you see a bird that you have never seen before, it is called a newbie.

Blue Jays -I believe that the two Blue jays here are mates; most of the time the blue jays will mate for life. They hang out together with other blue jays in their area. At times I can hear the blue jay calls before I see them, their calls can be loud.

Hairy Woodpecker - female - Woodpeckers skulls are designed to withstand  their pounding on the hard wood of trees. They help to keep forest pests in check, like insects and wood-boring insects. Trees that are dead, diseased or dying, are the ones that the woodpeckers will usually drill deeper into for nesting holes.
