This Carolina wren decided to take a few bites of the rose petals to see if it was something to eat. The wren took several bites of the petals, and would spit them out. The wren decided the roses didn’t have much taste, and that bugs and worms tasted so much better.
It was a hot day; Miss Dove decided to jump into a dish of water to cool off. Mick fly’s in and sits on the side of the dish and started talking to Miss Dove. Along comes Scott to join the party. Miss Dove said; “This water dish isn’t big enough for three.”
This is a large butterfly; their wing span can be from 3 to 4 inches wide.
There are four stages of life for a butterfly; the egg stage, caterpillar, chrysalis (pupa), and the last stage is the butterfly. It takes about a month from the time it is an egg to become a butterfly.
The butterfly life span can range from 6 to 14 days.
The Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly is the state butterfly for the states of; Delaware, South Carolina, Georgia, and for Virginia it is the state insect.
The butterfly is on a butterfly bush.
This young Red-bellied Woodpecker, is having strawberries for lunch, grin.
The Red-bellied tongue is about 2 inches long; the tip of the tongue is barbed and the spit is sticky which helps it’s to get prey that are deep in the crevices of bark, etc.
