I have been gone a while. My husband, Jimmy had been fighting Cancer. It started in 2015, in July 18th 2019 he passed away from the cancer. My heart is broken now. He is up in Heaven watching over me now.

The smallest woodpecker that is in North America is the downy woodpecker. Its name comes from the downy white feathers.
Their bill is about half the size of the hairy woodpeckers. Also, on the downy woodpecker’s white outer tail feathers they will have a few black bars. Hairy woodpecker outer tail feathers are all white. Downy woodpeckers are 6” and Hairy woodpeckers are 9 “in size. The males have red on nape, the females will have no red on their nape.

The pigment in blue jay feathers are brown, we see the color blue because of the scattering light through the cells on the surface of their feather barbs.
The cardinals mating season begins in March. The male will protect his breeding area from any male that shows up. One of the ways that the males will court the females is by feeding her food. Northern Cardinals
If there is something in the deer area and they don’t know for sure what it is, it makes them nervous. The deer will stomp their front foot down once and make a snorting noise. If the deer feels that there is danger, they will stomp their front foot down twice or sometimes more before they run off with their tail up high. That is also a warning sign for other deer that may be in their area to start running. Whitetail Doe
The Titmouse's holds their peanuts the same way that Chickadees and Blue Jays hold theirs.
The peanuts that we feed the birds are dry roasted, unsalted peanuts. Because they are better for the birds.
